Halal Awareness Training (HAT), or Latihan Kesedaran Halal, is a mandatory Halal course for companies seeking JAKIM Malaysian Halal certification or renewing their existing Halal certification every three years. This training must be obtained from a registered Halal training provider.
Al Barakah Training Solution Sdn Bhd is a registered training provider and a strategic partner of the Malaysia International Halal Academy (MIHA) to conduct Halal Awareness Training and Latihan Kesedaran Halal.
There are two types of mandatory Halal training for JAKIM Halal certificate holders:
Halal Awareness Training / Latihan Kesedaran Halal
This course must be attended by all employees, with priority given to those in production, purchasing, and warehouse operations, every three years.Halal Competency Training / Latihan Kompetensi Halal
This course must be attended by all Internal Halal Committee (IHC) members every three years (minimum). Further details are explained on the Halal Competency Training page.
Halal Awareness Training 2025
As stated in the Manual Procedure for Malaysian Halal Certification (MPPHM) 2020, management of Halal-certified companies must ensure all employees receive Halal-related training.
This Halal Awareness Training / Kursus Kesedaran Halal introduces participants to the basic concepts of Halal & Toyyib and best practices for maintaining Halal integrity during food processing within an organization.
This training is essential for employees of JAKIM Halal-certified companies to comply with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) set by JAKIM’s Halal Division.
By understanding Halal certification, employees will recognize the importance of implementing good Halal practices when handling food products.
Halal Awareness Course

With reference to the latest Manual Procedure for Malaysian Halal Certification (MPPHM 2020), Clause 17(12)(c) under the Training section:
“Halal Awareness Training must cover topics related to the concept of Halal and Malaysian Halal Certification procedures, and must be conducted by organizations or individuals registered under JAKIM’s Halal Professional Board (HPB).”
The certificate issued is also recognized by the Malaysia International Halal Academy (MIHA), meaning our certification is accepted not only in Malaysia but also internationally.
Halal Awareness
This course is specially titled “Halal Good Practice” (Amalan Halal yang Baik), reflecting the core focus on implementing robust Halal standards.
This title was chosen based on feedback received since 2009 from employers regarding the essential competencies required for their employees.
The training module is designed to maximize participant engagement and drive positive behavioral changes in workplace practices.
Employer’s Responsibility
It is the employer’s duty to ensure employees receive regular and adequate training to maintain the company’s Halal assurance system effectively across all organizational levels.
